Adding RSS Feeds To Your Digital Poster Frames with RevelDigital.com
What are RSS Feeds?
Companies and websites use RSS Feeds to send up-to-date information to subscribers of their feed. RSS feeds are published by these companies and websites, and as the feed is updated by the owner, the new information is automatically received by subscribers. RSS stands for "really simple syndication" and also "rich site summary". RSS feeds require a "feed reader" like Feed Burner, Apple's iTunes, Google Reader, and more recent versions of Microsoft Outlook (add a feed to Outlook, and receive updates via email). Our digital poster frames are designed to handle RSS Feeds, and as the feeds are updated by publishers, the feeds will display new content on your digital poster frames.
Example Feeds For Our Digital Poster Frames:
* Any RSS feed can be added to digital poster frames - DigitalPosterFrames.com does not take responsibility for content or format published by other entities. The below feeds are real feeds that we have provided as a sample of how RSS can be used with digital signage.
RSS Feed Display in Digital Poster Frames:
RSS Feeds can be displayed 2 ways in our digital poster frames. Feeds can be displayed in a scrolling marquee text box, and they can be displayed as a slide in a slide show.Scrolling Marquee Text Box: Most commonly, scrolling marquee text boxes are used to scroll messages across the bottom of a screen. For our purpose, RSS feeds can be inserted into scrolling marquees, and as the feed is updated by the publisher, updated messaging displays across the digital poster frame screen. In addition to RSS, custom messaging can also be displayed through the scrolling marquee.
Slide Show RSS Feed Display: RSS feeds can also be displayed through "slides" in a slide show. Depending on the media player you are running, your slide show may run in full screen or framed screen (framed screen supported by media player SKU#: RDPRO132). Several RSS feeds can be added to create one dynamic slideshow that plays updated content throughout the day.
Custom Messaging: Custom messaging can be used in a scrolling marquee for a variety of reasons. These custom messages are manually typed into the digital poster frame content management interface and can display custom messages like hours of operation, breakfast/lunch/dinner specials, drink specials, upcoming events, sales, new product releases, announcements, company wide news alerts, and much much more! Any business can use this type of custom messaging in their digital poster frame to promote a variety of information related to their business.

Craigslist.com allows users to generate RSS feeds based on what they are looking for and additional search criteria. Google Alerts lets users generate custom RSS feeds based on search phrases, and when a selected search phrase is published in new article, the RSS feed is updated.
RSS feeds are published and can be found on just about any topic available. DigitalPosterFrames.com does not take responsibility for the content of these feeds.
